Role: Senior Support Worker for adults with mild to moderate learning disabilities as part of the halow project.

Location: Our services are primarily based across Guildford and Cranleigh, but you may also be supporting at activities and venues across the Surrey area. It is desirable for our support workers to have a full driving license with access to a car, and our Support Workers can claim mileage for travel undertaken as part of their role.

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week, working 5 of 7 days, with an average of 2 sleep-ins per week. This role requires flexibility to work on a rotational rota pattern covering Monday – Sunday each week across shifts patterns which include early shifts, day shifts, late shifts, sleep-ins and some weekends.

Salary: Starting at a competitive £26,325 per annum with Sleep-ins paid at a supplementary rate of £50 per night.

Annual Leave: 30 days pro-rata, inclusive of bank holidays.

Training: Fully paid training is given including the industry recognised Care Certificate, and further development opportunities are available including Positive Behaviour Support and opportunities to study for accredited National Vocational Qualifications.

Job requirements Our Senior Support Workers are a vital part of how we nurture independence in adults aged 18+ through our highly regarded Supported Living service.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality support to our young adults and helping to plan their day-to-day lives whilst working to achieve their goals. This will involve providing encouragement and support on tasks within their own home including household chores such as cooking, with their physical wellbeing as well as helping them to plan and access their social life, activities, and engagements within the local community and further afield.

This role will further support House Managers in overseeing day to day operations of the Supported Living houses by; identifying meaningful opportunities for the supported adults, supporting with training and and offering advice to Support Workers, communication with stakeholders and partners and keeping clear and up to date records.

Resilience and adaptability are key as this role involves lone working either with an individual or a small group, as well as working as part of the wider Care team. Some personal care and administration of medicine may be required depending on who you are supporting, and you’ll receive full training and support for this to ensure you are fully equipped.
