This workshop focuses on pioneering professional craftswomen in Victorian Britain, analysing their wide-ranging works: sculpture, pottery, enamel jewellery, stained glass and textiles.
It offers a broader understanding of the Arts and Crafts movement by highlighting women’s central contributions to it. Revealing a creative sisterhood, we will explore the works and networks of Phoebe Anna Traquair, Ernestine Mills, May Morris and Mary Watts, as well as lesser-known figures Pamela Colman Smith, Mary Wheelhouse and Ellen Mary Rope.
Length of course: 2 Mondays Advance booking essential - Member: £45; Non-Member: £51
